Days of Road Block

In enforcing the Movement Control Order (MCO) or Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan (famously known as PKP), the authorities had to set up roadblocks at strategic locations in Sarawak. This was to prevent inter-divisional movement. Being a member of the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee our Ministry of Local Government and Housing was tasked to look into the enforcement of the MCO via our local authorities. Additionally, the Ministry was requested to coordinate the supply of mobile toilets as some of the roadblock locations were far away from 'civilisation'. Come rain or shine the Police Di-Raja Malaysia (PDRM) and Malaysian Army personnels had to hold their ground. So our team has to ensure that our frontliners' tasks are made easier throughout Sarawak. This was still a time of uncertainty.
